Tim,
What type of products are you selling, is it B2B or consumer focused? There are numerous ways to iether purchase leads, or generate your own. Let me know some specifics and I'm confident we can give some good tips. |

If you have some suggestions for me, I would be happy to consider them, too. I tend to focus on P&C, but can sell pretty much anything. Wouldn't mind some big annuities-have found them to be very expensive leads to buy and the prospect is wanting information, not to be bombarded by six agents, all of whom have about $50 invested in the lead. Building relationships seems the best marketing in that area.
I have used some of the bigs-NetQuote, QuoteAuction, InsureMe, AgentInsider. Was going to use Hometownquotes, but decided to hold off. Not sure I loved any of them. They generated some sales, but the poor, unsuspecting prospects were getting hammered with calls. If you didn't call in the first 30 minutes after the lead was generated, they had probably already received at least 5 calls from other agents or their assistants. More often than not, my biggest competitor was buyer fatigue rather than other agents. Essentially, they were expecting some quotes to be e-mailed to them, not a swarm of agents descending on them. I just stopped that cold about a month ago. I am using Bolder Calls to call for exclusive home leads-kind of pricey at $18/each with a goal of 5 per week. Also just took on 2 commission only independent contractors to call off lists that I will be preparing for them. They start next Monday. Was going to use Sales Genie, but found another company (Cole Information Services) that was about 1/4 the cost for just a little more work required of me (have to scrub the phone numbers 10 at a time, live on their webpage). -Greg |
